Global Interconnected Cloud (GIC)

The cloud servers deployed in China locations often experience jitter, latency and interruption. Global DevOp teams frequently faces trouble accessing the servers located in China.

Features
Interconnectivity

Our Global Interconnected Cloud (GIC) is a cloud-hosting platform at its best with an integrated layer 2 Network directly connecting cloud servers between all locations in and out of China. The dedicated layer 2 link between the data centers delivers minimal latency, large bandwidth and built-in redundancy. Specifically, GIC extends the dedicated connection to China to overcome the latency and packet loss challenges.

The automated GIC web portal make it effortless to establish layer 2 connectivity between PoPs in and out of China. The dedicated connectivity provides a private tunnel for data to be transmitted between PoPs with negligible packet loss.

Object Storage

GIC Storage Services (GSS) is Object Storage on the CDS Global Interconnected Cloud (GIC) platform. Highly reliable, scalable and secure, GSS provides a fast and cost-effective way to archive and retrieve data anywhere, anytime, from any device.

GIC Storage Service (GSS) is widely rendered in Analytics, Compliance, Social Media, File Sharing, Content Storage and Distribution or Big Data services.

CDS adopts the Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) for GSS for its massive capacity, robust security and broad protocol supported. The GSS interface is fully compatible with Amazon S3 and OpenStack Swift, permitting seamless WAN or LAN access for new or existing Web 2.0 and mobile applications. It is a seamless migration from S3 to GSS.

GSS is also integrated with CDN networks for static content distribution nationwide. More details about this feature can be found at ChinaEdge™
